Greetings
On behalf of the Organizing Committee we look forward to welcome you to Debrecen, the second largest town of Hungary on the 9th International Plant Protection Symposium (9thIPPS) at University of Debrecen. The National Trans-Tisza Plant Protection Forum (TNF) was established in 1996, 26 years ago and in 1997 the national Symposium was organized with international participants at the first time, and repeated in every three year. These Symposia are excellent opportunities for researchers, experts, plant protection specialists from countries being in collaboration within European and World projects, for staff of Hungarian universities and researchers to disseminate their experiences, to discuss ideas and to consider new trends and directions for the future of plant protection.
Themes are broad and multiple, as are the ideas and perspectives brought by participants from across our planet. We are proud of creating tradition of Symposia, we aim to blend results of nowadays science, integrated pest management (IPM) practice with the best in local hospitality which will be given in generous measure by the famous city of the Great Hungarian Plain, Debrecen and its ancient University (est. 1538).
The higher education of agriculture in Debrecen recently celebrated its 150th anniversary which started in 1868 to establish the best and up-to-date agriculture in the region.
