2. Final Exam Registration in Neptun

How to register:
Go to:
Administration → Final Exams → Register for the relevant semester

Final exams take place in June or December each year.

3. Structure of the Final Exam

The final exam consists of two parts:

  1. Thesis Defense
    • Presentation of your thesis
    • Answering questions and comments

  2. Oral Examination
    • Based on topics related to your field of study

Your supervisor will inform you about the format and content of your thesis presentation.

Both parts take place on the same day.

Once you register for the final exam, you are officially considered a graduating student, and the graduation deadlines apply to you—even if you are taking other (non-final) courses.

Dress code: Formal or smart attire is expected to reflect the importance of the occasion.

4. In Case You Cannot Attend

If you've registered for the final exam but cannot attend:

  • Inform both the Study Department as soon as possible.

5. Final Exam Committee
  • The committee is appointed by the Dean with approval from the Faculty Council.
  • It includes:
    • 1 Chairperson (an expert from the field)
    • At least 2 members
    • An examiner

The committee will:

  • Assess your performance
  • Grade your thesis
  • Announce the final results at the end of the exam session

In case of disagreement, the Chairperson makes the final decision.

6. Failed Final Exam – Retake
  • If you fail any part of the final exam, you must retake it in the next exam period (June or December).

7. Diploma Grade Calculation

Your diploma grade is the average of three components:

  • A: Weighted academic average of all semesters
  • B: Grade of the oral final exam
  • C: Grade for the thesis defense

Formula:
Final Grade = (A + B + C) / 3

Diploma classification:
