1. Based on the University’s Rules and Regulations
General Rules
- The maximum number of passive semesters is half of the original programme duration (rounded up for programmes with an odd number of semesters).
- Passive semesters cannot exceed two consecutive semesters.
- In special cases (e.g., childbirth, accident, illness, or other unavoidable circumstances), the dean may extend the allowed consecutive passive semesters based on a written request. (Article 3, Section 8, p. 7)
2. Faculty Annex Provisions
Passive Semesters:
- BSc programmes: maximum 4 passive semesters, but no more than 2 consecutively.
- MSc programmes: maximum 2 passive semesters.
Active Semester Limit for Tuition Fee-Paying Students:
- Student status will expire if fewer than 10 credits are earned across the last two active semesters.
- The total number of active semesters available is twice the programme duration.
Course Registration Limit:
- A course may be registered for a maximum of six times.
- If the course is not successfully completed after the sixth registration, student status will expire.
3. Immigration Office Regulations
These rules are independent of the University’s internal regulations.
- The total time allowed for studies (in semesters) is a maximum of 1.5 times the programme duration.
