The week of the graduates

The Faculty of Economics (GTK) and the Faculty of Agricultural, Food Sciences and Environmental Management (MÉK) nearly five hundred graduate students have continued the tradition of more than four decades, and said goodbye to their years at the University of Debrecen between May 6-10. at the traditional event called ‘Sárgulás’.

Bachelor, master and postgraduate students from both faculties were involved in the five days, and participated in the teams several times. The instructors took their fair part in the daily events: as usual, the students and their teachers made a presentation to each other in which they tried to play the stories of university life in a fun way.http://dehok.unideb.hu/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/IMG_6765.jpg

The graduate students took part in a dinner with their tutors, which was also enriched by five kinds of palinka tasting. The good atmosphere was only enhanced by the evening programs, including the 11-station night tour and performances at Kazánház, including AK26, PIXA, Stolenbeat or Kis Grófo. The most spectacular part of the farewell, the riding parade, was on Friday The tour went on the route of the Böszörményi Road Campus - Nagytemplom - Debrecen University Main Building. Jana Mojžišová, Rector of the Veterinary and Pharmaceutical University of Košice and István Komlósi, Dean of the MEK, also spoke to the marchers at the Great Church, who were also welcomed by Szabolcs Komolay, Deputy Mayor:http://dehok.unideb.hu/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/DSC0004-1-1024x683.jpg

“It's good to see you, it's good to watch you, this day is about you. Your predecessors invented forty-four years ago that they should say goodbye to the university years by organizing a parade and a ball, and although they were not sure to start a tradition, it has become one of the  most beautiful and noble traditions of the University of Debrecen.

On the University Square, Károly Pető, dean of the GTK, and András Jávor, Rector General Adviser, addressed the graduate students:

“We want you to be proud throughout your life that you have earned a diploma in Debrecen, and you have lived here for a part of your life. In the former place, Evelin Oláh, and on the latter place, Olivér Gulybán, remembered the past period, and said goodbye to the institution on behalf of the graduates, and after this a group of graduates presented ‘rábaközi’ dances to the audience.http://dehok.unideb.hu/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/DSC0011-1024x683.jpg

The parade ended at the Böszörményi Street Campus, where the students clinked  their unique jugs prepared for the occasion with their instructors remembering the past years, then came the evening ball where Kozmix and Desperado also performed. and the Panorama Party Show Band played music up until dawn.
