About us

At the Institute of Water and Environmental Management, the scientific staff currently consists of 12 academic members, 11 of whom hold a scientific degree. The team includes 2 full professors, 2 professor emeriti, 2 associate professors, 6 assistant professors, 2 lecturers, 1 junior research fellow, and 3 PhD students. Additionally, there is 1 professional service provider, 1 research assistant, and 2 technical engineers affiliated with the department.

The Institute was established in 1966. In 1992, it was reorganized into the Department of Agricultural Water Management, and in 1995, it was renamed the Department of Water and Environmental Management. Since 2010, it has operated under its current name, the Institute of Water and Environmental Management. The Institute was the first in Hungary to conduct irrigation experiments in orchards, carried out in Debrecen-Pallag.
