International Journal of Horticultural Science
The International Journal of Horticultural Science (IJHS) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal (ISSN 1585-0404 [Print], ISSN 2676-931X [Online]) published in English and maintained by the staff of the Institute of Horticulture at the University of Debrecen. It is recognized as a scientific journal by the Agricultural Sciences Section of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences..
The journal publishes professional articles covering all disciplines of horticultural science, including fruit growing, vegetable production, ornamental horticulture, viticulture, oenology, the cultivation of medicinal, aromatic and spice plants, forestry, horticultural biotechnology, environmental management, and horticultural economics. These contributions offer valuable scientific and practical insights for researchers, educators, growers, and university students alike.
Originally published in print by Agroinform Publishing, the journal has been available online since 2009. Since 2018, it has been published by the University of Debrecen through its standardized and open-access publication platform, free of charge (’no page charge’).
The International Journal of Horticultural Science is managed via the Open Journal Systems (OJS), which supports data exchange with other scientific databases and significantly enhances the visibility of articles in the academic community. All issues dating back to 1999 (over 1,000 published articles) are freely available and downloadable from the journal archive: https://ojs.lib.unideb.hu/IJHS/issue/archive. Keyword and author-based searches are also supported.
Each article is assigned a unique DOI identifier and is published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License, in line with international publishing standards.
