The number of scientific workers in the Institute of Water and Environmental Management is currently 13, from which 10 people have scientific degree (2 professors, 1 professor emeritus, 2 associate professors, 3 assistant professors, 3 assistant lecturer, 2 assistant research fellows), 1 Ph.D students.

The Institute was founded in 1966. In 1992, the Department changed to Agriculture and Water Management, and in 1995 received the name of Department of Water and Environmental Management. From 2010 it operates as Institute of Water and Environmental Management. The Department was first in the country, which carried out orchards irrigated experiments (Debrecen, Pallag).
